B.C. has a range of glorious ski destinations to choose from – but have you been to them all?

How about Rossland's Red Mountain Resort in the Kootenays? This ski hill seems like they know how to have a great time and have a spectacular line up of events in March to check out.

They call it “17 days of non-stop revelry, both ridiculous and refined” and the extravaganza, coined the Spring Thing Festival starts March 13 and offers wide array of activities in store for all ages. From live music, chocolate tastings, dinner events, comedy acts and après-ski extravaganzas including the 4:30-6 p.m. “No Shower Happy Hour,” the March madness also includes a St. Patrick's Day celebration and then jumps straight into the Annual Beer Goggles Craft Brew Fest March 27 and 28. March 15 - Taynton Bay & The Velvet Collaboration Dinner $109
Invermere’s Taynton Bay Spirits is partnering with Chef Marc André Choquette (Chef MAC) of The Velvet Restaurant & Lounge for an exclusive dinner event. Distillery experts and chef will be on site to guide diners through a menu paired with cocktails and spirits.

March 19- Rossland Beer Company Brewmaster’s Dinner $109
Chef MAC of The Velvet Restaurant & Lounge is partnering with the Rossland Beer Company for a four-course beer-paired dinner.
After dinner, head over to listen to the tunes of Tim Buckley Live at the Flying Steamshovel.

March 22 - For the Love of Cheese: A night with Kootenay Meadows Cheese $30
Kootenay Meadows Farms will be bringing a range of their cheeses to be perfectly paired with in house wine selections at The Velvet Restaurant and Lounge with sommelier Michel Valquette.

March 24 - Bean to Bar: Mountain Nugget Chocolate Tasting
Mountain Nugget Chocolate, located in the heart of Downtown Rossland will be bringing up a variety of hand rolled truffles, artisan bars and confections to sample.

March 27-28 – The Annual Beer Goggles Craft Brew Fest
The 7th annual Beer Goggles Festival promises a weekend of fun for the beer enthusiast.
“Beer Goggles is not simply a beer festival, but a celebration of the craft beer industry,” says Don Thompson, GM of Red Mountain Resort. “And Red is kind of the ‘craft beer’ of ski resorts: better taste, less filler! We really feel a common bond with many of these breweries and respect their daring independence and devotion to making people happy.”
Every year a new Beer Goggles Champion is crowned so get creative with your eyewear and enter to win.
