PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP have made four arrests following the robbery and beating of two homeless men in the city.
The two men suffered severe injuries in the robbery as well as losing several valuables, according to an RCMP media release.
Police began an investigation into the robbery and assaults on March 14. RCMP say the four suspects were arrested between March 18 and 19.
“Police are confident this was a targeted incident. This is a very cowardly attack on two vulnerable and defenceless individuals,” Targeted Enforcement Unit member Const. Ryan Shedden said in the release.
Kevin Walter-Hughes, 50, faces charges including assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and two counts of robbery. Walter-Hughes is known to police.
Kaleb Royer, 41, Christina Chappell and Samantha Chappell, 20, face two counts of robbery.
Walter-Hughes remains in jail while the three co-accused have been released on conditions.
