PENTICTON—It’s a long weekend and a great time to relax, but if you’re looking for something to do this Easter weekend, here are five ideas in the South Okanagan.
1. WHAT: 4th Annual LocoLanding Easter Egg Hunt
WHERE: LocoLanding Adventure Park, 75 Riverside Drive, Penticton
WHEN: Monday, April 21, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
COST: $5 per child
There are 10,000 eggs hidden through the park ready for you find so bring your own basket and get ready to hunt. There will also be live music, crafts and other activities.
2. WHAT: Perfect Easter Party
WHERE: Penticton Community Centre
WHEN:Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
COST: $7 per child
There will be face painting, balloon animals, craft stations and much more for kids three to 10 years old. And make sure you stick around to see the Easter Bunny who is making a special appearance.
3. WHAT: Naramata Easter Egg Drop
WHERE: Manitou Park
WHEN: Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1 p.m.
The Easter Bunny will be flying overhead in a helicopter, dropping ping pong balls across Manitou park for kids to pick up and exchange for eggs. There will be treats for all ages, but the egg collection is only for kids 10 and under.
Note: Please do not walk across the park before 1 p.m. to avoid being in the drop zone. There will be a marked area for guidance.
4. WHAT: Kettle Valley Railway Easter Train
WHERE: Prairie Valley Station, directions here
WHEN: Saturday April 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
COST: $13-22
It’s the first ride of the season, so hop on board for a visit with the Easter bunny, treats and live music. Reservations are required.
5. WHAT: Easter Brunch
WHERE: Lakeside Resort Grand Ballroom
WHEN: Sunday April 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
COST:$24.95 per person, Kids 12 and under $1.25 per year
Breakfast is served in the Grand Ballroom, where there will be a change to have a photo taken with the Easter bunny, prizes for best bonnet, and an Easter egg Hunt for kids 8 and under.
