KELOWNA - An autobody shop owner in Kelowna is cleaning up today after an early-morning fire on Baron Road.

Crews made quick work of the fire, Kelowna Fire Department platoon captain Scott Clarke said in a press release, responding at 5:50 a.m. today, March 8, with three engines, a rescue unit, a command unit and a safety unit staffed by 16 firefighters.

Clarke said the business owner discovered the fire and made sure everyone in the building was out before fire crews arrived.

The fire caused some damage to the building and a vehicle and is under investigation although Clarke said it was not considered suspicious.
