PENTICTON - Crews worked fast last night to contain a fire in Penticton.

A fire broke out at Carmi Mountain during the evening on May 31, threatening nearby homes.

The fire reached three hectares in size before the Penticton Fire Department Twitter account officially declared it "held" just before 9:30 p.m.

Crews spent last night and today mopping up the rest of the fire.
