Police make two separate arrests of alleged drug dealers, fentanyl seized

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say efforts to target drug dealers selling the deadly opioid fentanyl have led to two separate arrests.

Forty-year-old Michael Bentley was taken into custody last week on a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and police say he also faces outstanding charges for similar offences in 2016.

The department's drug enforcement unit searched his Fraser Valley home, storage locker and vehicle in December.

Police say drugs including fentanyl, crack cocaine and heroin were seized, along with $6,000 in cash and several cellphones.

An investigation into another Abbotsford man launched in January also led to an arrest last week.

Police say 48-year-old Robert Harris is expected to appear in court in April, after tips were received that he was allegedly trafficking fentanyl from his apartment.
