CALGARY - The Calgary Stampeders clinched first place in the CFL's West Division with a 29-25 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday.

The Stampeders (14-3) have a game remaining in the regular season against the B.C. Lions on Friday, but Calgary can look forward to hosting the division final Nov. 17 at McMahon Stadium.

The Roughriders (11-6) will face the Lions in the division semifinal Nov. 10 in Regina, which is also the site of this year's Grey Cup. The semifinal winner takes on the Stampeders the following week at McMahon Stadium.

Stampeder halfback back Jon Cornish scored the winning touchdown on a three-yard dash at 13:12 of the fourth quarter. He rushed for 106 yards to pad his single-season rushing record by a Canadian running back to 1,718.

Calgary quarterback Kevin Glenn threw a touchdown pass to Anthony Parker before he was replaced in the second half by Drew Tate. Tate ran for a touchdown and kicker Rene Paredes made his three field-goal attempts in front of an announced 33,671 at McMahon Stadium.

Darian Durant threw a touchdown pass to Taj Smith in the fourth quarter and ran for a major in the game for Saskatchewan in the game. Roughrider kicker Chris Milo was 4 for 4 in field-goal attempts.

Charleston Hughes collected three of Calgary's seven sacks to take over the league lead at 18. He had been tied with Alex Hall of the Roughriders, who remained at 15.

Calgary and Saskatchewan traded the lead in the fourth quarter. Cornish's three-yard rumble restored Calgary's lead after Durant's 28-yard throw to an open Smith in the end zone at 9:55.

Saskatchewan led 15-10 at the half with 11 of those points earned off turnovers. Of Calgary's four fumbles, Glenn had two.

Tate replaced Glenn for the second half after the latter threw for 120 yards and one touchdown. Tate completed 11 of 16 passes for 181 yards.

He pulled the Stampeders ahead to 19-15 with a one-yard run at 7:26 of the third quarter. Drew's subsequent two-point convert attempt was unsuccessful.

Milo's fourth field goal of the night drew Saskatchewan within a point at 13:03, but Paredes gave Calgary breathing room from 42 yards at 4:35 of the fourth quarter to make it 22-18.

After a mistake-free first half, the Roughriders bungled the second-half kickoff with Calgary's Jamal Wall scooping up the ball on the 31-yard line. Calgary pulled within two points on a Paredes field goal from 34 yards out.

Saskatchewan's Tearrius George sacked Glenn and recovered the ball on Calgary's 12-yard line late in the second half. Durant kept the ball to score on a one-yard dash at 14:24. The Roughriders failed on an attempted two-point convert.

Milo pulled the visitors within a point with a 32-yard field goal at 13:43.

The Stampeders defence limited the damage when Glenn was stripped of the ball and George also recovered on Calgary's five-yard line earlier the second quarter.

A Cordarro Law sack forced Saskatchewan into a field goal attempt and Milo was good from the 19-yard line at 7:31.

Saskatchewan's fourth major penalty of the first half had the Roughriders punting out of their own end zone, which gave Calgary the ball on their own 46 yard line. Glenn finished the drive with an 11-yard pass to Parker at 3:36 for a 10-3 lead.

Calgary turned the ball over on their first two possessions before tying the game 3-3 on a 16-yard field goal from Paredes at 11:48 pof the first quarter.

Cornish fumbled on the second play of the game with Saskatchewan's Alex Hall recovering on Calgary 42-yard line. The Roughriders settled for 23-yard field goal from Milo to lead 3-0 at 3:32.
