Former Lions defensive lineman Gary Robinson dies at 70

VANCOUVER - Former B.C. Lions defensive lineman Gary Robinson has died. He was 70 years old.

The Lions made the announcement on Friday. No further details were given at the time.

Robinson was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 10th overall in the 1969 CFL draft out of Simon Fraser University.

B.C. claimed him off waivers that summer and he would go on to appear in 135 regular season games for the Lions from 1969 to 1978.
