REGINA - Edmonton Eskimos defensive tackle Almondo Sewell was released from hospital on Sunday, the team announced.

Sewell was taken to hospital as a precaution during the third quarter of Saturday's 14-9 loss to the Roughriders in Saskatchewan.

The game was stopped for approximately 10 minutes when a Saskatchewan defender rolled over Sewell's neck covering a punt.

All tests came back negative for spinal fracture. He will be assessed further by Eskimos medical staff.
