MINNEAPOLIS - Adrian Peterson has become the seventh running back in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.
Peterson rushed into history in the third quarter with a 20-yard run, giving him 2,009 on the season.
The Minnesota Vikings running back entered the game against the rival Green Bay Packers on Sunday needing 102 yards to join O.J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis and Chris Johnson in the 200-yard club. Peterson is the only one to do it after having reconstructive knee surgery.
