Former B.C. finance minister Kevin Falcon finds new job

VANCOUVER - Former B.C. finance minister Kevin Falcon has had no trouble finding a new job.

Falcon has been hired as the executive vice president of real estate development and private equity firm, Anthem Capital Corp., which is related to Anthem Properties.

Falcon starts his new post May 16, two days after he officially ends his 12-year job as MLA for the suburban Vancouver riding of Surrey-Cloverdale.

He admits the new position is a bit of a switch, but says his experience as minister of finance, minister of transportation, deputy premier and chairman of the treasury board has given him some introduction to the business community.

Anthem CEO Eric Carlson says Falcon will lead "the oversight and growth" of the company's business portfolio and will help raise money from individuals and institutions.

The three-term MLA lost the Liberal leadership race to Christy Clark more than two years ago and announced last August that he would not be seeking re-election. (News1130)
