Report: Turkish police arrest 10 suspected IS recruiters

ANKARA, Turkey - A Turkish news agency says police in Ankara have rounded up at least 10 people suspected of being recruiters for the Islamic State group.

The state-run Anadolu Agency reports anti-terror squads carried out early morning operations Monday in the Turkish capital targeting suspected recruiters with links to IS forces.

Turkish authorities have blamed IS for the Jan. 12 suicide bombing in a historic district of Istanbul which killed 10 tourists. The extremist group is also believed to be behind the twin suicide bombings that killed 103 demonstrators in Ankara in October.

Turkey has been cracking down on suspected IS cells in the country and is stepping up efforts to seal its porous border with Syria. It also allows anti-IS coalition aircraft to use its bases for bombing IS targets.
