KELOWNA - Kelowna police are looking for a dangerously erratic driver who side-swiped a bus filled with children yesterday.

According to a press release, frontline RCMP members responded to an erratic pick-up truck that was driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Springfield Road near Gerstmar Road at 3:45 p.m. on April 16.

The truck veered wildly on the road, side-swiping a bus carrying children to an after school facility and hitting another vehicle on the street, causing property damage.

“We’re fortunate that no one was injured in these collisions but the outcome could have been much worse. We need to locate this pickup truck and follow up with the driver,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster in the press release.

The erratic vehicle is described as an older brown and grey, box style Chevrolet pick-up truck with a single cab and a two tone front quarter panel and door. Due to the collisions, the driver's side of the truck is believed to have sustained damages.

Anyone with information on the truck can contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
