Duncan Avenue storm sewer cleared following Saturday's rain

The City of Penticton reports the storm sewer on Duncan Avenue will be operational sometime today following a blockage that occurred during heavy rain on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

PENTICTON - The city is making headway in its efforts to clean up a city intersection following heavy rain on Saturday.

Clean up efforts along Columbia Street at Duncan Avenue have been progressing since the storm water system in the area became blocked with silt and mud coming from Carmi Road, east of the city’s boundary, on Saturday, April 7.

City Public Works Manager Len Robson says he expects the storm sewer will be back in service later today.

The city will review the source and cause of the blockage in hopes of finding a long term solution to the issue.
