A travel advisory has been added to the snowfall warning already in place on the Coquihalla between Merritt and Hope today.

Environment Canada has continued a snowfall warning today, Feb. 15, due to heavy snow on the Coquihalla Summit, while Drive B.C. has recently issued a travel advisory on the route.

The snow is supposed to ease this afternoon but will further accumulate 10 to 15 cm, Environment Canada says.

Drive B.C. warns of poor visibility due to blowing snow and fog between Britton Creek and Portia interchange.

The snowfall warning also covers Highway 3 from Princeton to Hope via the Allison Pass.

Drivers should be aware of snow moving maintenance equipment and crews.

It is also advised to exercise caution, leave space between the vehicle in front of you, and be prepared, as weather in the mountains can change suddenly.

Check out the Environment Canada website for the latest on the snowfall warning.

The latest driving conditions can be found at the Drive B.C. website here.
