Domestic dispute in Kamloops ends with arrest and seizure of guns

KAMLOOPS – A man is in custody after police dealt with a case of domestic violence in Kamloops last night.

RCMP say they were called at about 9:15 p.m. to a home in the 1900-block of Westsyde Road.

The domestic dispute involved a firearm, so for the safety of residents in the area, police closed Westsyde Road until it was resolved, according to a RCMP media release.

A man was arrested and guns were seized, police say. RCMP don’t say how many and what kinds of firearms were seized.

The suspect is being held in custody and will appear in court at a later date to face a number of charges. Police don’t say what the man could be charged with or how old he is.

RCMP say the incident was “safely dealt with” but aren’t saying if anyone was hurt.
