Crews contain wildfire near Osoyoos

A B.C. Wildfire crew is on a fire that broke out near Osoyoos around 8 p.m. yesterday, April 13, 2021.

Crews are mopping up a small wildfire that broke out last night near Osoyoos.

Oliver firefighters were initially called to the wildfire just after 8 p.m. yesterday, April 13.

B.C. Wildfire Service fire information officer Kayla Pepper says eight firefighters are on scene of the Mica Creek fire today.

The wildfire is located near the Cottages property along the northwest side of Osoyoos Lake, but is not currently a threat to any structures.

Pepper says the fire, which is estimated to be 0.4 ha in size, is being held and is believed to have been human caused.
