Three Thompson-Okanagan care facilities are currently dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks.

Today, April 2, the Interior Health Authority announced a COVID-19 outbreak at the Kamloops Overlander long-term care home, adding to the two care facilities already experiencing outbreaks.

On March 29, the Interior Health Authority declared outbreaks at two North Okanagan facilities, the complex care facility Parkview Place in Enderby, and long-term care home Monashee Mews in Lumby.

The three care facilities within the Interior Health region are the only ones currently experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks.

The vaccination rate in Kamloops for those over five years old who have had at least one shot sits at 86 per cent. In the North Okanagan, Lumby sits at 77 per cent.

The rate is 88 per cent provincewide, with the Interior Health region sitting at an 82 per cent vaccination rate.

On April 1, the province surpassed the 3,000 mark for the number of people that have died from COVID-19.
