B.C. tips over 80 per cent for first vaccine shot as COVID-19 cases climb

VICTORIA - COVID-19 case counts in British Columbia keep climbing, with the latest daily figure reaching 112.

Health officials had warned that infections would rise as restrictions were lifted.

There are 603 active cases, 40 per cent of which are in the Interior Health region.

There have been four more deaths, two in the Interior and one each in the Fraser and Vancouver Coastal health regions.

There are 46 people in hospital, including 17 in intensive care.

Of those 12 years and older, 80.3 per cent have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while just over 58 per cent are fully vaccinated.
