KAMLOOPS - Kamloops residents can look forward to a little bit of everything in this week’s weather forecast.

Environment Canada meteorologist Armel Castellan says the above normal temperatures of the past few days will give way to a trough and some unsettled conditions on Tuesday.

Much of the approaching weather system's moisture is expected to be north of the city, but Kamloops could see some precipitation Wednesday and Thursday.

More seasonal temperatures are expected for the remainder of the week, with the possibility of another moisture rich system approaching on Sunday.

Castellan says "the pressure is on the month of June" to produce rain prior to the onset of the summer season in July and August.

The forecast calls for a a mix of sun and cloud today, June 17, along with southwest winds at 30 km/h this afternoon. A high of 32 Celsius and an overnight low of 15 C is anticipated.

Tomorrow is expected to start with sunny skies, but clouds should begin to roll in early in the afternoon. A high of 29 C is expected along with southwest winds at 20 km/h. Tomorrow night should see cloudy periods and a low of 14 C.

On Wednesday, there is a 30 per cent possibility of showers along with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22 C. A 30 per cent chance of showers continues through Wednesday night with a low of 9 C.

Thursday’s weather should be a close repeat of Wednesday’s, with a mix of sun and clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers expected, along with a high of 21 C.

Sunny skies are expected to return Friday with a high of 28 C.

Next weekend is looking a bit unsettled at this point, with a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 25 C expected on Saturday.

On Sunday, clouds return with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 23 C.

Kamloops’s normal high and low temperatures for this time of year are 25 C and 12 C.
