Clouds, showers followed by sunshine this week in Kamloops

Today's clouds and showers will give way to clearing skies and seasonable temperatures for the remainder of the week in Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - An unsettled start to the week will give way to more pleasant, spring-like conditions in Kamloops.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says scattered showers today, March 25, in the region will become more predominant tonight with freezing levels dropping to 1200 metres, which will likely mean snow on mountain passes. The summit on the Coquihalla Highway could see five centimetres, the Okanagan Connector about two cm and Allison Pass on Highway 3 up to four cm of snow tonight before the system passes through the region tomorrow.

Sekhon says the rest of the week should be dry and warm. There is a possibility of precipitation on Friday, but the coming weekend looks to be sunny and warm.

Today in Kamloops, the forecast calls for a cloudy day with a 60 per cent chance of showers this morning and an east wind at 20 km/h this afternoon with a high of 13 Celsius. Showers are expected to return tonight with a low of 7 C.

The rain should end tomorrow morning, making way for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 11 C. There’s a 40 per cent chance of showers overnight tomorrow with a low of 1 C.

Wednesday through Friday are expected to be sunny with highs of 12 C Wednesday, 14 C Thursday and 15 C on Friday.

The sunny weather is expected to continue into the weekend with highs of 17 C Saturday and 16 C Sunday.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 13 C and lows of 1 C.
