KELOWNA - A week of spring is coming in the middle of February in the Okanagan.

The week ahead will be mild with rain showers in the forecast, according to Environment Canada, staring with a mix of sun and cloud today, Feb. 14. We should reach a high of 6 Celsius today, followed by a low of -3 C tonight as clouds roll in with winds up to 30 km/h along and a 60 per cent chance of rain showers or snow flurries.

The showers and clouds will stick around, as tomorrow the high will be 7 C with a 40 per cent chance of showers. In the evening, the chance of showers will continue as temperatures drop only a couple of degrees to 4 C across the Okanagan, with periods of rain.

Thursday is forecast to be similar, with a high of 8 C and showers. That night there will be a temperature drop down to 0 C with chances of showers.

Friday will be much the same during the day, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 7 C. Heading into the weekend there may be some precipitation with a 40 per cent chance of showers or flurries and a low of 2 C.

The weekend is looking to be grey as well, with a high of 8 C on Saturday and a chance of showers while on Sunday a high of 6 C is expected, also with showers.

Currently all major highways east and west of the Okanagan are open, after the chaos last week with weather-related closures. Drive B.C. does have some alerts for slippery conditions on Highway 1 in the Shuswap.
