Clinton Library hosts digitization milestone

The TNRD Library System, in partnership with the Clinton Museum, will be hosting an event celebrating the inclusion of the Clinton Lariat in the TNRDLS’ Newshound newspaper digitization project.

The event will take place at the Clinton Library on Thursday, Nov. 17, starting at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The Newshound project offers searchable images of newspapers from the Regional District, including photos, layout and advertising. It was launched in 2015 with archived copies of The Kamloops Daily News to 2001. Kamloops This Week, The Merritt Herald and Merritt News soon followed.

The Clinton Museum was a key partner in helping to get the Lariat archived and digitized. Clare Warner, owner and publisher of the Lariat, generously granted permission and supplied digital copies of current editions.

The TNRDLS hopes to have other newspapers from across the region available in the Newshound archive in the future. You can find Newshound here.
