Opera Kelowna has teamed up with local costume, set and prop designers throughout the Okanagan for their production of AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS, a Christmas Opera in collaboration with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and Conductor, Rosemary Thomson. Composer, Gian Carlo Menotti’s, wonderful one hour family opera, originally written for television in 1951, tells the story of a young boy, Amahl, played by Jonathan Etheridge and his encounter with the Three Kings on their journey to Bethlehem. The rich musical score tells this magical story with humanity, community and fun, ending in a beautiful miracle that will delight audiences, young and old.
As part of this collaboration, Opera Kelowna is responsible for providing all the singers, the set and all the costumes for the production. The show will feature some of Opera Kelowna’s Resident and Young Artists along with a chorus of over 30 singers! Read Press Release
