PENTICTON -- A Penticton Triathalon Race Society board member has resigned to pursue a bid to organize the 2015 Challenge Penticton race.

Bruce Schoenne, of Schoenne Appraisals Ltd., a Penticton appraisal and consulting firm, will bid for the takeover of Challenge Penticton, which is currently organized by the Penticton Triathalon Society, of which he is a board member.

The City of Penticton announced last week that they were looking for persons and organizations interested in taking over the responsibilities of organizing and funding the city’s new triathalon.

The winning bidder will begin organizing for the 2015 race. The society will continue with preparations for this year’s race in August.
