Case of mistaken identity means RCMP still looking for stolen West Kelowna pickup

FILE PHOTO

WEST KELOWNA - RCMP officers who responded to a call about a stolen truck on Monday were able to run the thieves to ground, but the truck that sparked the call in the first place is still missing.

Police were called to Ironridge Drive in the Shannon Lake area of West Kelowna, Monday, May 27, with a report of a stolen grey 2005 Ford F-350 pickup truck.

They spotted a truck and gave chase, nabbing two armed men from Edmonton.

It turns out that the men were driving a different, almost identical truck. It was also a Ford F-350 that had been stolen in Edmonton.

The missing pickup is a grey crew cab with B.C. licence plates PB170W.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 or Crime Stoppers.
