Calgary man brought back to earth after flying high on Penticton flight

FILE PHOTO- A Calgary man faces a lifetime ban from flying on Westjet following drunk and disorderly behaviour on a recent flight from Calgary to Penticton, RCMP say.

PENTICTON - A Calgary man had his wings clipped following a flight to the Peach City last week.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police were called to Penticton Regional Airport on the evening of Feb. 2 following the landing of a Westjet Airlines Ltd. flight out of Calgary.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for causing a disturbance and mischief.

The man was apparently extremely intoxicated and caused a number of problems during the flight.

While not threatening or violent in nature, his loud, obnoxious and rowdy behaviour was an issue.

He was arrested and held until sober.

The Calgary resident escaped criminal charges, but faces a lifetime ban from travel on Westjet.
