Southern California clear, very cold after days of storms

LOS ANGELES - After days of rain and heavy snowfall, Southern California skies are clear and cold.

A mix of freeze warnings and frost advisories are in effect Wednesday morning for many areas from the Central Coast south to San Diego County.

The California Highway Patrol says Interstate 15 is closed in the Mojave Desert near the Nevada state line due to icy conditions.

The National Weather Service is reporting five-day precipitation totals include more than 11 inches (28 centimetres) of rain and as much as 3 feet (0.91 metre) of snow at locations in the mountains northeast of Los Angeles.

The day's warnings and advisories are expected to expire at late morning.
