The Latest: 2 held after 4 injured in Palmdale shooting

PALMDALE, Calif. - The Latest on a shooting in Palmdale (all times local):

9 p.m.

Authorities now say two people have been detained in connection with a shooting in Palmdale that injured four people.

The attack took place around 2 p.m. Monday near a smoke shop in a shopping plaza.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says several people were fighting when someone pulled a gun and opened fire.

Authorities tells KABC-TV (http://bit.ly/2e393RI ) that three people were hospitalized with non-life threatening gunshot wounds and a fourth person was treated for non-gun injuries.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman says four people have been shot in Palmdale and one person is in custody.

Deputy Kimberly Alexander says deputies are looking for a second suspect in the 2 p.m. Monday shooting at a smoke shop.

Deputies are searching an area of small businesses in the Antelope Valley city north of Los Angeles.

Alexander says one victim is in critical condition, two have minor wounds and the condition of the fourth is unknown.

Alexander says no deputies have been hurt.
