LOS ANGELES - A vigil for a bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash erupted into violence Wednesday when a pedestrian was struck by a car in another hit-and-run and the crowd smashed the window of a responding police vehicle, Los Angeles authorities said.

The group gathered at a South Los Angeles intersection where a cyclist died a day earlier after being hit by a vehicle, police Officer Tony Im said.

A tan Honda Accord sped through the intersection around 1 p.m. Wednesday, hitting and injuring one man, Im said.

Video from the scene aired by KTLA-TV shows the victim flying off the car's hood and landing on the pavement. He then got up and hopped on one foot to the sidewalk, where he collapsed to the ground. His condition was not immediately available.

Im said the crowd grew angry and threw rocks and bottles at a police vehicle, breaking a window. No officers were hurt.

No arrests were reported. Investigators are searching for suspects in both crashes, officials said.

The vigil was being held at the intersection in memory of a cyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run motorist driving a white Porsche Cayenne around 1 p.m. Tuesday. The victim, a man in his 20s, died at a hospital.
