Boat owner tracks thieves to Lake Okanagan Resort

KELOWNA - RCMP say a man tracked down two men who allegedly stole his speedboat last Friday.

Kelowna RCMP Const. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a press release, says a man discovered his boat had been stolen from moorage off Poplar Point in Kelowna’s North End.

O’Donaghey says the man soon spotted two men in his 19-foot Sea Ray and followed them to Lake Okanagan Resort off Westside Road.

Officers in the southeast district RCMP boat soon arrived and arrested a 28-year-old and a 49-year-old from Kelowna.

Police say the two men could be charged with theft over $5,000 amongst other charges.
