Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Vancouver Giants – 2-1 Loss

The Giants rode the goaltending of Payton Lee as they held on for a 2-1 win over the Blazers. Cain Franson and Joel Hamilton were the Giants goal scorers, while Matt Bellerive tallied his 18th goal of the season for the Blazers. Bolton Pouliot was solid on the night making 35 saves despite the loss. Click here for Highlights and Recap. 

Friday, March 7, 2014 at Victoria Royals – 5-1 Loss

The Royals scored three goals in the first period en route to a 5-1 win over the Blazers. Five different players scored for the Royals as Ben Walker had four assists in the game. Ryan Rehill was the Blazers lone goal scorer intercepting a pass before getting his fourth goal of the season. Bolton Pouliot made 35 saves in goal. Click here for Highlights and Recap. 

Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Victoria Royals – 3-2 Loss

Despite being down 3-0 only 6:05 into the game, the Blazers rallied for two goals but came up short in a 3-2 loss to the Royals. Matt Needham and Matt Revel scored for the Blazers in the third period as the Blazers had two glorious chances to tie the game late, but couldn’t score. Bolton Pouliot made 26 saves in goal. Two Final Home Games this Week

The Blazers play two final home games this week to conclude the 2013-2014 WHL regular season. A tailgate party, over $10,000 in prizes, a 2013-14 team picture, individual season awards and much more will be going on at the final two home games of the season.


Thoughts and Prayers with Tim Bozon

The Kamloops Blazers organization is keeping Tim Bozon in their thoughts and prayers as he is in critical condition in a Saskatoon hospital.

Fans will have the opportunity to sign a 4’ x 8’ banner for Tim at the final two home games of the regular season.

Bowl for Kids Sake

The Kamloops Blazers once again participated in the Bowl For Kids Sake event in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Kamloops & Region on March 3rd. The Blazers players raised $1508 and the event has raised a grand total of $69,700.

Alumni Update: Matt Kassian

Matt Kassian (2004-2007) played two and a half seasons with the Kamloops Blazers after being acquired from the Vancouver Giants when he was 18.

The Edmonton native is playing his seventh season of professional hockey with the Ottawa Senators. Kassian has played in 70 career NHL games with the Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators. He has three goals and 148 penalty minutes in his NHL career.

Kassian played 229 AHL games with the Houston Aeros between 2007 and 2012 before settling in as an NHL regular with Ottawa.

He played 167 career games with the Blazers and recorded 16 goals and 32 points along with 392 penalty minutes between 2004 and 2007.

The 2013-14 Kamloops Blazers Hockey Card sets are now available. They can be picked up for FREE by visiting Canadian Western Bank located at 1211 Summit Drive.
