KAMLOOPS - Five Kamloops Blazers will be attending various professional summer development camps this year.

Cole Ully and Collin Shirley will be at the Dallas Stars camps, Ryan Rehill and Matt Needham will be at the New Jersey Devils camps and Chase Souto is with the Anaheim Ducks.

The Stars camp runs from July 9-12 in Texas. It will be the second development camp with the team for Ully, who was chosen by Dallas in the fifth round of the National Hockey League draft in 2013. Shirley will be attending as a newcomer.

Needham will be attending the Devils camp next week after joining the Stars camp last summer. The Devils camp will be the first summer development camp for Rehill though, who was selected by New Jersey in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.

Souto has been attending his hometown Ducks camp, which concludes today, Monday, July 7.

Kamloops finished the 2013-14 season with only 14 wins, 52 losses, two overtime losses and three shootout losses, which was the second worst record behind Lethbridge with only 12 wins. In 2012-13 the team finished near the top of the pack with 47 wins and made it to the conference finals where they lost to Portland, the eventual championship winners.

The Blazers will begin pre-season play Aug. 29 when they host Vancouver. Regular season action will kick off with a home game Sept. 19 against Victoria.
