B.C. Wildfire crews responding to 450 ha fire near Highway 3

B.C. Wildfire Service crews are responding to a 450 hectare wildfire located to the west of Highway 3.

According to the service's latest update, the fire is burning roughly seven kilometres west of the highway and 33 km southwest of Princeton.

The wildfire service is responding with aerial resources and support from local industry and the fire is visible to travellers in the area.

The Garrison Lake wildfire is classified as out of control and was discovered July 20.

An evacuation alert has been issued by the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen for 141 properties in the East Gate area. For more information, visit the regional district's website.
