B.C. nurse suspended for giving senior cannabis edible
A B.C. nurse that gave a senior edible cannabis and asked a coworker to create false vaccination records for him has been suspended for a week.
According to a Sept. 4 B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives decision, registered nurse Jeremiah Isaksen supplied a senior with edible cannabis outside of the elder's health-care plan.
Isaksen, who worked in Nanaimo, also asked a co-worker to create a false vaccination record and then shared on social media that the COVID-19 vaccine was "unnecessary, unsafe, and possibly lethal."
Isaksen signed a consent agreement admitting to his behaviour that took place throughout 2021 and until March 2022.
Along with a one-week suspension, Isaksen will also agreed to review informed consent and complete a course on ethics. He will also have to "discuss his learning" in relation to his conduct with a College practice consultant.
No other details were given in the college's decision.
