B.C. ELECTION 2017: Provincial Green Party leader visits Kamloops for campaign announcement

FILE PHOTO: B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver, seen here during his visit to Kamloops March 28, 2017, will be in Kamloops today, April 19, 2017 for a policy announcement.

KAMLOOPS - B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver is returning to Kamloops today.

Weaver, the MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head in Victoria, is stopping off for a couple of events today, April 19, including a new announcement regarding his party’s platform, according to a press release.

He’ll be meeting with candidates and supporters at 1 p.m. and following up with a campaign announcement at Thompson Rivers University at 2 p.m. The nature of the announcement has not been released; the press release only states it is a new plank in the party platform.

This will be the first time Weaver has visited Kamloops during the provincial campaign period. He was in the city in March prior to the start of the official election campaign.

Provincial election day is on May 9.
