PENTICTON - An abandoned property moves closer to destruction tonight if no action is taken to clean it up.

The home at 555 Wade Ave. East is boarded up and decrepit, with overgrown weeds and a cracked driveway. Real estate agent Rick Appleton said at a previous meeting the owners plan on cleaning the site prior to selling it. Appleton and his clients will have a chance to address council tonight.

While one property faces the possibility of harsh judgment another might expand.

Cherry Lane Mall owners want to build a new 5,000-square foot liquor store near the gas bar and current liquor store at 2111 Main St.

The owners are also seeking a new tenant to operate the gas bar which has been sitting idle for many months.

The public will have a chance to weigh in on this possible development at tonight's council meeting which starts at 6 p.m.
