Kamloops Mounties arrested a man in relation to an Oct. 1, gunshots complaint.

David Jeffery Tremblay, 34, of Kamloops, has been charged with fail to comply with a release order by being in possession of a firearm contrary to section 145(5)(a) Criminal Code, and intentional discharge of a firearm into a place knowing a person was present contrary to section 244.2(3)(b) Criminal Code.

RCMP said at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 1, the Kamloops RCMP received a report of gunshots in the area of Willow Street.

"The resulting investigation revealed a vehicle had driven up to a residence on Willow Street and fired several shots at the home which was occupied at the time," according to a press release sent out by RCMP.

"Nobody was physically injured. The investigation promptly took police to a residence in the Dallas Drive area where the suspect in question was arrested by members of the Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit with support from the South East District Emergency Response Team."

Tremblay is currently remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.

"This was a broad daylight, brazen drive-by shooting in a residential neighbourhood,"  Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay - RCMP Kamloops Plain clothes Commander.

"Thankfully nobody was killed but we have seen incidents exactly like this result in innocent people being killed. If you saw David TREMBLAY anywhere in Kamloops on Oct. 1 and 2, please contact the Kamloops RCMP. Reckless violence like this cannot be tolerated by anyone and your information can assist investigators with this case."

This incident was targeted but clearly presented a danger to anyone in the area. The persons involved are associated to the local drug trade.

If you have information concerning this shooting please contact the RCMP at 250-828-3000 and ask to speak with an investigator.
