CINCINNATI - Veteran TV journalist Katie Couric says she has faced sexist attitudes in her career, such as demeaning descriptions and "gross comments."

Couric spoke Thursday at consumer products maker Procter & Gamble's Cincinnati headquarters in a forum on the state of women in the workplace. The forum comes amid a wave of sexual misconduct claims against prominent figures in entertainment, politics and the media.

She says more so than sexual misconduct, she's been subjected to marginalizing attitudes such as being described as cute and perky. She recounted a CNN executive early in her career citing her breast size.

Couric has said she had been unaware of the misconduct allegations that led to the ouster last year of her former NBC "Today Show" co-host, Matt Lauer.
