Another wet weekend in store for Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - An unseasonably cool and wet September will continue into the weekend for Kamloops, as the city can expect showers through Saturday.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says temperatures this month have been below the seasonal average, but he hints by next week at this time things might be on the upswing as a high pressure ridge builds.

The forecast for today, Sept. 20, calls for clouds, a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 16 Celsius, with periods of rain overnight — five to 10 millimetres worth — and a low of 10 C. Although Lundquist says rainfall amount could be as high as 20 mm in some locations.

Tomorrow the probability of showers jumps to 60 per cent with a high of 14 C. The showers will continue overnight with a low of 10 C.

On Saturday, the weather office is calling for showers with a high of 15 C, with a more rain overnight and a low of 10 C.

The rain should end on Sunday with cloudy skies and a high of 18 C and a low of 8 C.

Just in time to return to work on Monday, the sun returns with a high of 18 C and a low of 7 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 20 C and lows of 7 C.
