RAPPER NIPSEY HUSSLE SHOT DEAD IN LOS ANGELES

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle has died at age 33.

Police in Los Angeles say he was shot dead Sunday outside a store Hussle owns. Two other men were shot and wounded and were last listed in stable condition.

The Los Angeles Crisis Response team said Sunday that "we lost a great musician" and support has been offered to Hussle's family.

As night fell in Los Angeles, a large crowd of fans and residents gathered behind police lines. Police say detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses and looking to see if any surveillance video captured the incident.

FANS AND COLLEAGUES MOURN DEATH OF RAPPER NIPSEY HUSSLE

UNDATED (AP) — Fans and colleagues are mourning the death of Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot dead outside his Los Angeles store on Sunday.

Rihanna tweeted, "This doesn't make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this!"

Atlantic Records, Hussle's label, issued a statement via Twitter saying, "Words cannot express our sadness. Nipsey was not only one of the greatest artists we worked with but an amazing father & leader in his community."

Actress and writer Issa Rae tweeted, "''Watching Nipsey inspired me to invest and own in our communities. He was a solid man who loved his woman, his family and his community."

Rapper J. Cole tweeted, "Nipsey you a legend."

ROLLING STONES CALL OFF TOUR

NEW YORK (AP) — What's wrong with Mick Jagger? The Rolling Stones announced Saturday that their tour is postponed while Jagger gets medical treatment. The band did not say for what Jagger needs treatment, only that he'll make a complete recovery. Jagger, who is 75, tweeted he's "devastated" about the postponement but he's working very hard to get back on stage. The tour was supposed to begin April 20 in Miami. Ticket holders should hold onto their tickets because they will be good for the rescheduled dates, which have yet to be announced.

DEF LEPPARD'S RICK ALLEN GETS STANDING OVATION AT ROCK HALL

NEW YORK (AP) — Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was in tears when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Friday. He got a standing ovation after singer Joe Elliott pointed out how Allen came out stronger after a life-changing accident in which he lost his arm. Guitarist Phil Collen, who often appears on stage shirtless, did not wear a shirt for their induction but he did wear a suit coat.

STEVIE NICKS MAKES ROCK HALL HISTORY

NEW YORK (AP) — Stevie Nicks can tell a story with no problem. What she has trouble with is explaining what it's like to be the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Nicks says because she's the first, she's hoping she's opening the door for other women. Nicks performed "Leather and Lace" with Don Henley and "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" with Harry Styles, who gave her induction speech. Nicks brought with her the $3,000 cape she bought in 1983 over the protests of her very frugal mother. Nicks says she wanted to show it was still in good shape.

JANET JACKSON WANTED TO GO TO LAW SCHOOL

NEW YORK (AP) — If Janet Jackson had gotten her way, she would have been a lawyer. Jackson said during her Rock Hall induction speech on Friday she also did not think she was a very good dancer. Jackson says her father, Joe Jackson, wanted her to be an entertainer like the rest of her family, but she was determined to stand on her own. She says she never expected in a million years to follow in the footsteps of her brothers, but she adds, "Tonight, your baby sister has made it."

RADIOHEAD SAY THEY'RE HONORED AT ROCK HALL INDUCTION

NEW YORK (AP) — While Radiohead has been wishy-washy about the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, two of them still showed up. Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien accepted the honour Friday in New York. David Byrne inducted them, which was appropriate since the band borrowed their name from a Byrne song. Selway says, "Luckily for us, he hasn't asked for it back yet." Selway and O'Brien say their induction was indeed an honour, and O'Brien says he wishes the others were there because they would be feeling it.

THE ZOMBIES GET ROCK HALL 50 YEARS AFTER "TIME OF THE SEASON"

NEW YORK (AP) — Rod Argent of The Zombies found it appropriate that Friday was the day The Zombies finally made it into the Rock Hall. Argent said during their acceptance that 50 years earlier to the day, "Time of the Season" had hit number one. The Zombies had been nominated four times before making it. Drummer Hugh Grundy says he had taken up drums so he could be in the front of the marching band where the girls would notice him. He says instead, it was Argent who noticed and asked him to be in the band.

THE CURE'S ROBERT SMITH IS HUMBLE AT ROCK HALL INDUCTION

NEW YORK (AP) — Although The Cure can create an entire world of music, singer Robert Smith can't spin a tale. Smith said during their Rock Hall induction he's no good at telling stories and he's "a very bad communicator." Trent Reznor gave the induction speech for The Cure. Reznor says The Cure have gone in and out of fashion so much they transcend fashion itself. Reznor says the band is fronted by a "100 per cent authentically Robert Smith kind of person who lives a 100 per cent authentically Robert Smith kind of life."

NEW YORK (AP) — John Taylor of Duran Duran says without Roxy Music, there would have been no Duran Duran. Taylor and Simon Le Bon inducted Roxy Music in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Friday. Taylor recalled listening with Nick Rhodes to Roxy Music's soundcheck as 14-year-olds, and then running with a bunch of girls who knew which hotel Roxy Music were staying. Roxy Music frontman Brian Ferry calls their induction an "unexpected honour."

IMAGE AWARDS NAME BEYONCE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Beyonce took home the top award at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. She beat out LeBron James, Regina King, Chadwick Boseman and director Ryan Coogler for the entertainer of the year award. Childish Gambino won video of the year for "This Is America." Ella Mai, Bruno Mars, H.E.R. (her), Toni Braxton and the "Black Panther" soundtrack won in other music categories. Jay-Z was given the President's Award for public service. "The Bobby Brown Story" won for outstanding TV special.

NAV IS NUMBER ONE WITH "BAD HABITS"

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nav nabs the number-one spot on the Billboard album chart. His "Bad Habits" album moved 82,000 units in the past week, even though he does not have a hit in the top 20 of the pop, rap or R-and-B songs charts. Ariana Grande (GRAHN'-day) is number two with "Thank U, Next." ''Death Race for Love" by Juice WRLD (world) is third. Rich The Kid is fourth with "The World Is AM Yours 2." XXXTentacion (ex-ex-ex-ten-TAH'-see-YOHN') is fifth with "?'' (question mark), which was just reissued with bonus tracks.

JONATHAN MCREYNOLDS WINS SIX AT STELLAR GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jonathan McReynolds was the big winner at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in Las Vegas on Friday. He won six trophies, including artist of the year. The first Aretha Franklin ICON Award was presented to members of Franklin's family. Kelly Price, Regina Belle and Erica Campbell performed a Franklin tribute. The Stellar Awards will be shown on BET on April 21.
