Alleged mail thieves busted in Olalla

Keremeos RCMP arrested two alleged mail box thieves yesterday. The suspects were observed stealing license plates from a vehicle in Olalla.

PENTICTON - Two alleged mailbox thieves were busted yesterday at 3 a.m. when RCMP spotted them trying to steal license plates in Olalla.

Keremeos RCMP followed up a report of a suspicious vehicle, RCMP Staff Sgt. Kurt Lozinski said. Upon arrival a man and a woman from Keremeos were observed stealing plates from another vehicle. Further investigation found these persons were allegedly responsible for other break-ins and thefts which include mailbox thefts.

The two are facing multiple charges. The 27-year-old woman and the 31-year-old man have extensive criminal records. The woman was released on several conditions while the man remains in custody with his next appearance in Penticton Provincial Court on Thursday.
