Alberta man at the wheel of truck stolen from a Kelowna address

KELOWNA - RCMP went looking for someone reportedly driving impaired near Eldorado Road and found a possible auto thief.

Witnesses told Mounties they saw an impaired driver just leaving the Eldorado Road area at about 12:43 a.m. July 22, according to a press release. They said the driver seemed to have trouble starting the Dodge pickup truck before he drove away.

Police eventually found the truck on Lexington Drive at Gordon Drive and pulled the driver over.

Though the driver was sober, he was quickly taken into custody after officers discovered the Dodge was stolen from a Biggar Road home July 5.

Ryan Phillip Lessoway is charged with theft of a motor vehicle and will appear in court July 22.
