Private search continues for 3 aboard missing Alaska plane

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The owners of an air ambulance that went missing in Alaska say they're working with a helicopter company and others to search for the remains of the three people who presumably died in a crash.

Guardian Flight says that as weather permits, Juneau-based Temsco Helicopters is conducting aerial searches for the King Air 200 that disappeared last week en route to pick up a patient in the southeast community of Kake.

The pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic were Guardian Flight employees.

The Coast Guard searched hundreds of square miles before suspending the search Thursday.

An aircraft wing and other debris were found at the search site, but the Coast Guard said it could not confirm it was from the missing plane. Guardian Flight officials say they believe it was.
