A passenger with COVID-19 has been reported on a recent Air Canada flight that landed in Kelowna.

The case was reported on Air Canada flight 8418 on Sept. 23. The plane flew from Vancouver and landed in Kelowna, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control. The affected rows were not reported.

Passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days, according to the centre.

Yesterday, Oct. 1, Transport Canada updated its mask regulations. Bandanas, face shields and masks with exhalation vents are no longer accepted in Canadian airports.

"A non-medical mask or face covering with an exhalation valve or vent, a non-medical mask or face covering made with mesh or lace fabric, a neck gaiter, a bandana, or a face shield are not acceptable as they don’t protect others from COVID-19 and don’t limit the spread of the virus," according to Transport Canada.
