There are five more COVID-19 exposures at Central Okanagan Public Schools today, Dec. 13.

Mar Jok Elementary, Oyama Traditional School, Canyon Falls Middle, Mount Boucherie Secondary and Okanagan Mission Secondary have all had an exposure.

"All individuals are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams. Interior Health follows up with anyone potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing," reads a press release from the school district.

"The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remain our highest priority. Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible."

When a case of COVID-19 is confirmed, IH public health will work quickly to determine close contacts, and will contact parents/guardians of students who are considered to be at risk.

Throughout the entire Southern Interior, there are 21 schools with potential exposures. There are 14 within the Central Okanagan — 12 public and two private schools — one in Kamloops, one in Penticton, one in Oliver, one in Vernon, one in Williams Lake two in the South East Kootenay district.
