2014 Super League Hockey Tournament

KAMLOOPS — On March 29, 2014, Kamloops will be host to the 2014 Super League Hockey Tournament for youth with special needs. This is the third year that Kamloops has participated, and the first year Kamloops is hosting the tournament. Kamloops will compete against teams from Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon, and our goal is to make this year's tournament a great day for everyone.

The Kamloops Hockey for Youth with Special Needs program is for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 years old with developmental delays and physical disabilities. The goal of the program is to offer a safe environment to learn to skate, improve motor skills and co-ordination and, most importantly, PLAY HOCKEY!

Opening ceremonies are at 9:30 am, with games beginning at 10:00 am, and running through until 3:00 pm. Players will also participate in a skills competition and coaches will have the opportunity to show off their hockey skills in the Coaches Game. A dinner banquet for players, family and friends will be held after the tournament where teams will receive medals and prizes.

Event organizers would like to thank all the organizations, businesses, and individuals who have donated to this event - their generosity will help make this a memorable day for everyone involved.
