    OLIVER, BC –  Runners and wine lovers can raise a glass to starting training for next year’s ultimate fun run: the race is on to register for tickets for the 2017 Half Corked Marathon, which will be held May 27, 2017.
  • Chase RCMP mischief, theft and break-ins report

    On October 1st, Chase RCMP received a complaint of theft of an all-terrain vehicle in the 1800 block of Chase-Falkland Road.  The owner stated that sometime overnight the side-by-side ATV was taken from the rural property.  Police examined the scene and took down the details of the machine.  On October 4th, the owner called police to state that he had found the ATV in the woods at the back of his property.  No suspects have been identified at this time.

  • Spooktacular Pumpkin Walk lights up the nut farm

    WEST KELOWNA - The hugely popular ‘Spooktacular Pumpkin Walk’ returns to the Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park later this month.

    On Sunday, October 25th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, carved pumpkins (with an LED candle light/tea light inside) can be dropped off at the regional park, located just off Whitworth Road in West Kelowna. Slip on your Halloween costume and head to the park between 5:00 and 8:00 pm to view the lighted pumpkins lining the pathways around the nut orchard.

    The 2013 Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) Household Hazardous Waste Round Up will take place on Saturday, September 28th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Okanagan College parking lot in Vernon and from 9:00 am to noon at the Enderby Fire Hall and the Lumby Fire Hall. Bring your household hazardous waste for safe disposal or recycling: old pesticides, solvents, chemicals, or corrosive and toxic cleaners; almost anything with a flammable or poisonous label.
