  • Richmond Avenue Reopens

    The City is pleased to announce that the upgrade work on Richmond Avenue is substantially complete.
  • Pleasant Valley Road construction to begin April 21

    VERNON - Beginning the week of April 21 and continuing into the fall of 2014, Pleasant Valley Road construction from 41 Ave to 48 Ave will commence, including road reconstruction, new water main, replacement of storm and sanitary sewer piping, and new sidewalk. Work will progress in two phases: Phase I on 41 Avenue to 16 Street is planned to start on Monday, April 21, and will take approximately 12 weeks to complete; Phase II, from 16 St to 48 Ave, will last approximately eight weeks.
  • Casa Loma Drainage Project – Phase 2 Begins

    The District of West Kelowna will start work this week on the Casa Loma Drainage Project – Phase 2, beginning with work on a portion of Campbell Road. As with all projects of this magnitude, residents in the area can expect dust, noise, vibrations and traffic disruptions.

    Colmar Construction Ltd. has been contracted to perform the storm sewer installation between 2545 and 2627 Campbell Road from March 17 to April 30, 2014.
  • 8800 Adventure Bay Road one lane Sept. 3 to Oct, 25

    The area of 8800 Adventure Bay Road will be one lane from September 3 to October 25 due to the installation of a sewer lift station near the roadway.
  • Brown Road upgrades to begin August 26

    Brown Road will be closed for construction from August 26 through mid-November, but access to businesses, churches and residences will be maintained during the Phase 1 Streetscape Improvement Project.

    During construction, the public will be directed to use Old Okanagan Highway and then proceed along Bering, Gossett, Apollo or Drought Roads to access area businesses, churches and residences.
  • Watch for construction workers and flaggers

    A City of Vernon contractor will be conducting drilling investigation to collect soil information for a proposed utility and pavement structure upgrade. Watch for construction workers and flaggers April 10 and 11 in the following areas and please slow down:

    April 10: 32 Avenue between 27 Street and 30 Street. 35 Street between 25 Avenue and 30 Avenue.
    April 11: Pottery Road, between Highway 6 and 15 Street.
