    On Nov. 21, the final Kelowna International Airport (YLW) Master Plan 2045 was approved and adopted by Kelowna City Council.

    In March 2015, YLW engaged SNC-Lavalin and its consultants to update the existing Master Plan 2025. The integrated team developed the new Master Plan 2045 in support of YLW’s vision to become the best mid-sized airport in North America.
  • Technology enables those with print disabilities to enjoy more books

    KELOWNA - A new pilot program at Kelowna branches of the Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) is bringing a wealth of new materials to members with print disabilities, thanks to funding from the Central Okanagan Foundation (COF).

    The "iPad Accessibility Project" enables those who cannot read traditional print books - either due to a visual disability, an inability to manipulate books manually, or a cognitive disability - to use tablets for their reading pleasure and education.
  • Natural beauty with dark themes in new printmaking show at Kelowna Art Gallery

    KELOWNA - Visitors to a new show at the Kelowna Art Gallery may feel as though they’ve stepped into a surreal, dream-like environment. The exhibition is entitled Makeshift and it is created by Toronto-based artist/printmaker Elizabeth D’Agostino.

    For her installation the artist has used a combination of etching, screen print, and collage on thin Japanese papers, to bring her detailed hand-drawn images of plants and animals to life.

  • Okanagan College graduates top of their game at Skills Canada

    Graduating Okanagan College students demonstrated their expertise once again at the 2015 Skills Canada National Competition held in Saskatoon in late May. Josh Wams won gold in Electronics and bronze medals went to Ethan Delichte in Automotive Service Tech and Nathan Schulte in Plumbing.
